MY BOOKS

I have written two books, shown below:

"All I Ever Thought About Was Football"

This is the biography of Laurence Jones, a key member of The Football Association. Beginning his football journey as a boyhood AFC Bournemouth fan, he became a referee rising to the highest level of non-league football and being a Football League Assistant Referee. Next he became CEO at Hampshire County FA, before two turbulent years as CEO of AFC Bournemouth as the club collapsed financially. Then it was on to a new life in Market Harborough as CEO of the Leicestershire & Rutland CFC, before joining The FA at Wembley he he rose to become Head of the National League System. I addition his work Harborough Town FC has seen the club rise from Step 6 football to Step 3.

The book contains fantastic insights in to the game, with contributions from Laurence, members of the senior non-league Trident Leagues, members of The FA and people from across football in Leicestershire.

"The Mamhead Military Railway: 1917 - 1921"

Following on from my work in Abbotskerswell my move to Kenton revealed the amazing story of this little known railway build to take the processed wood from the forests around the Mamhead Estate in South Devon. It describes in detail discovered in the Library Archive Canada the work of 104 Company of the Canadian Forestry Corps.
